My Hobby

My hobby is dancing Traditional
Hello, my name is Lailatul Musyarrafah. You can call me Laila. I come from Sumenep, Madura. I was the youngest of two sisters. I am an individual who is full of expression. One of my way to express myself is through dance.
I liked to dance around since I was a kid. I was inspired by my sister who are lovers of art, especially the art of dance. I have started to dancing when I was in elementary school of 1 Karang Tengah. In some events at the school, I often showed traditional dance which simple movements.
Anyway I was doing my hobby until I was in junior high school of 1 Gayam. The dance movements already have a more difficult level than before. I started performing at some school events, weddings, and other environmental events.
When I started school at senior high school 1 Gayam, I participated in extracurricular dance and trained to create a work of art of dance that originated from my own area (Sapudi). Sapudi famous race with a race of cattle is commonly called the Bull Race. Therefore, I created a dance-themed Bull Race. The movements symbolize Cattle movements when stimulated. Once the movement has been completed, the teacher I gave the name of the dance Ngarak Sape.
One day held a dance competition at the district level. Me and Kholis appointed to be a representative of SMAN 1 Gayam in participating in the contest. Sape Ngarak dance is a dance that will be shown in the dance competition . Me and Kholis practice regularly in order to show the best.
The race had already arrived. Until finally I perform and at the end of the event was announced that only three school as the winner. But my school does not qualify for the final. It made me be very disappointed. On the other hand I still feel proud to represent my school in participating in the race and show the best.
At the University of Jember, I keep my hobby through several events. At the inauguration ceremony of faculty, I presented the typical dances Banyuwangi (Sri Ganyong) with other friends. Although Sri Ganyong dance I had never pull before, but within a week of practice we can show the best performence.
Currently I'm studying the typical dance from Jember University, the name is Petik Kopi. On 21 March 2016, I and friends were asked to dance featuring Petik Kopi in Soetardjo Building.
That hobby which I elaborated starting from childhood until now without no plan to end it.
